Tarom, the flag carrier and oldest currently operating airline in Romania, resumed Bucharest-Baia Mare flights and introduced two flights per week. The route will operate starting 6 September.

The company made the announcement via its official Facebook account. According to the Tarom website, Baia Mare will be connected to Bucharest via two weekly flights.
The International Maramures Airport (AIM), was closed for national and international flights in December 2015, immediately after rehabilitation and expansion works were started. In June 2018, the airport obtained most permits needed to resume national flights.
According to the director of the Maramures International Airport, Dorin Buda, the airport has not yet been notified formally by Tarom regarding the resuming of flights. However, it is expecting to receive an official notification this week.
Before flights being suspended, Tarom operated two flights daily, from Sunday to Friday.
