The Greeks from OTE and the Romanian Communications Ministry have selected Stoica&Asociatii law firm to carry out the evaluation of shareholder options regarding the listing of Romtelecom at the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Two scenarios will be on the table of the consultancy law firm: a merger between Romtelecom and Cosmote, with the resulting company going public at Bucharest Stock Exchange, or Romtelecom will be directly assisted by Stoica&Asociatii on an IPO (initial public offering).
The designated law firm will act as an independent consultant and will work closely with the investment bank that hasn’t been elected yet.
Romtelecom will select an experienced investment bank by September 1 to assess the listing options at the Bucharest Stock Exchange and to issue a report by December 2011. Shareholders have agreed on a EUR 200.000 expertise, covering legal, economical and technical areas. The specialists involved in his process will be designated by the Romanian Ministry of Communications.
OTE own a 54.01 percent stake in Romtelecom, while the Romanian Communications Ministry owns 45.99 percent.
