Stefanos Theocharopoulos, CEO of Cosmote, has been appointed today at the head of Romtelecom.
He replaces Yorgos Ioannidis who announced last week he would be leaving Romtelecom starting with July 1.
“Our target is to build the number one telecom operator in Romania, which will generate supplementary value for the group and for all interested parties and will significantly improve customer experience via all the means of interaction with the company,” said Theocharopoulos.
Theocharopoulos has been CEO of Cosmote Romania since January 2008. he joined OTE in 2002 and held various management positions. Before OTE, he worked for companies such as O2 in Germany, Dutchtone in The Netherlands, Vodafone Greece, Fujitsu Telecom Research Center in Great Britain and Ericsson Hellas.
He is a graduate in electric engineering of the Sussex University, and has a Master of Science in Mobile and satellite communications from the University of Westminster.
