A consortium led by IT company Siveco Romania will be providing to the Taxation and Customs Union of the European Commission (DG TAXUD) support for training programs, eLearning and communication solutions in the customs and tax field, across all 28 EU member states, the company announced in a press release.

The consortium is made up of Siveco Romania and Intrasoft International. The contract will span over 3 years, and can be prolonged for 3 more years. The value of the contract is EUR 9.4 million.

Since the new Community Customs Code will come into force on May 1st, 2016, DG TAXUD is faced with adopting complex legal measures at central level as well as at the level of the 28 members states. The new stipulations in the Code must be disseminated rapidly and correctly to national customs authorities, companies and even the public, according to the press release.

The program that will be implemented by DG TAXUD will optimize customs and fiscal operations taking place all across EU states, contributing to the implementation, consistency, performance and harmonization of community legislative measures.

“Up to the moment, Siveco Romania together with its partners has implemented over 20 projects related to the European Commission, which consisted in the development of IT integrated systems with direct benefits for millions of EU citizens,” said Florin Ilia, president and general manager of Siveco Romania.
