Röyksopp, “a two-headed Norwegian monster, dealing within the realm of contemporary electronic music” (as the musicians describe themselves) will perform at B’Estfest music event in Bucharest on July 7, this being their first visit to Romania.
Formed in 1998 by Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland, Röyksopp is a landmark name on the electronic stage.
Their first album Melody A.M which is a mix between ambient, downtempo, synth-pop and soul-funk was included by The Guardian in the list of the 1,000 Albums To Hear Before You Die.
Melody A.M was followed by a new album The Understanding, launched in 2005, Junior launched in 2009 and Senior released in 2010.
Röyksopp has collaborated over time with soloists such as Robyn, Lykke Li, Karin Dreijer-Andersson (The Knife / Fever Ray) or Erlend Oye (Kings of Convenience / The Whitest Boy Alive).
Röyksopp will be performing on the same day with Selah Sue, Milow, Trolley Snatcha, Obituary and Mala Vita.
B’Estfest Summer Camp takes place in Bucharest between July 6-8 at B’estfest Park Tunari, showcasing artists such as Garbage, Pulp, Caro Emerald, Skindread, Meshuggah and Modestep.
Tickets are available in the Diverta store network as well as online at the website www.myticket.ro. Ticket prices go from RON 125 for one day to RON 265 for three days.
