Romtelecom announced that it has opened in Bacau, as part of Romtelecom Business Solutions, a call center for business process outsourcing (BPO), which will cater to clients in Romania and abroad, and will function non-stop.

The company plans to hire several hundred agents by the end of next year, function of the number of contracts that are signed.

“We have chosen Bacau because it met certain key requirements, such as being a university center and thus ensuring high-trained personnel,” said George Makowski, executive commercial manager for the business segment in Romtelecom.

The Romtelecom managers will manage operations from the call center, which includes training the agents. On the other hand, a separate company will employ the necessary personnel function of contracts under way.

“The business model for this activity requires high flexibility and sizing up the labor force depending on the contracts under way at a certain moment in time. This is why we preferred to organize this acitivity in a separate entity which can better and faster run this business model and ensure high productivity levels that the BPO market needs: in the case of Romtelecom we are talking mainly of call-center and back-office services,” said Makowski.

The call-center has functioned until now as well, but in the pilot version, having only several tens of employees.

Romtelecom Business Solutions has 100 large companies as well as more than 100,000 SMEs as clients.
