Romania’s wholesale trade up by 7.7 pct in 2016, almost double versus 2015, says INS

The turnover from wholesale trade in Romania went up by 7.7 percent in 2016, almost double than 2015, a growth supported by cars and agricultural products trade, shows the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 

The highest increase was registered in 2016 in the trade with cars and equipments, recording a growth of 25.5 percent compared with 2015.

Also, the turnover in agricultural products businesses increased by 19 percent compared with 2015, according to the INS.

In December 2016, the the turnover in wholesale trade businesses went up by 2.8 percent annually.

The best growth rate from the last years was registered in December 2016, of 15 percent.

Compared with November, the overall wholesale trade went down in December 2016 by 6.2 percent on gross series and by 2.3 percent in adjusted series, according to the working days number and the seasonal variations.

The statistics don’t include the trade between vehicle and motorbike firms.
