Romania’s EU funds absorption remains flat at 76.69 pct in July

The EU funds absorption rate was maintained at the same level as in June, respectively 76.69 percent in the financial period 2007-2013, according to the Ministry of European Funds (MFE).

The expenses value transmitted to European Commission (EC) was over EUR 14.6 billion on July 31. Regarding the absorption rate, respectively the repayment from EC, it grew by 3.29 percentage points to 71.76 percent (EUR 13.6 billion).

On the Operational Sectorial Economic Competitiveness Growth Program, the absorption rate was 90.02 percent, on the Technical Assistance Operational Program it was 97.71 percent, on the Environment Operational Sector Program it grew to 77.45 percent, on the Operational Regional Program 83.91 percent, on the Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development Program it grew to 65.14 percent, while on the Operational Sectorial Transport Program to 68.8 percent.

On August 5 it was the deadline of the last intermediary payment submission for the Operational Regional Program, the Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development Program, the Operational Sectorial Economic Competitiveness Growth Program and the Technical Assistance Operational Program.

The deadline for the the Operational Sectorial Transport and the Environment Operational Sector Program is on September 5.
