Romania’s annual inflation down to -0.7 pct in November compared with -0.4 pct in October

The annual decrease of prices in Romania accelerated again in November to -0.7 percent after a slight moderation in October, when the inflation was -0.4 percent, according to the data of National Institute of Statistics (INS).

“The consumption prices, measured by the Consumer Price Index (IPC), were lower by 0.7 percent in November 2016 compared with November 2015. The annual rate of consumption prices was 0.2 percent, determined by the harmonized index of prices of consumption (IAPC), ” says the release.

The share of merchandise and services that registered a decrease in prices, compared with November 2015, is 42.4 percent, while the ones which registered increases between 0-2.5 percent own a share of 53.3 percent and the merchandise and services whose prices went up by 2.5 percent have a share of 4.3 percent.

„The average rate of prices of consumption in the last 12 months (December 2015-November 2016), based on the IPC is 1.6 percent compared with the previous 12 months (December 2014-November 2015). The average rate based on IAPC is 1.1 percent, ” says the source.

However, the consumer prices rose only slightly in November compared with the previous month, 0.07 percent.
