Romanian women are willing to spend large sums on luxury items, not with cash, but rather with credit cards, according to a press release from SOLE Luxury Boutique, fashion and beauty retailer. “The ease of obtaining a credit card and, especially, the fact that it allows them to pay gradually for a product that they can enjoy instantly — these are the most important arguments for this purchasing behaviour,” stated Angela Tiboc, Fashion&Lifestyle division director at SOLE.

Thus, over 30 percent of the orders that go over RON 1,000 ar paid for in 3, 6 or 9 instalments through various credit cards and are made up of, usually, bags from well-known fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe or Celine, according to Tiboc.

At the same time, 25 percent of the clients of Soleshop.ro pay for their online orders through an online card, while 65 percent prefer paying on delivery, and the least amount of clients (10 percent) choose to pay for the products through payment order, adds the company.

Additionally, starting this April, the company will be introducing payments through PayPal. “We are certain that among our clients we can find adepts of this service, and because of the advantages it offers, we estimated in the medium term that PayPal payments will reach the top 3 of the most accessible means for online payments, after cash and instalment payments,” said Tiboc.

Sole currently sells a variety of luxury perfumes, cosmetics, bags, glasses, gadgets and tech accessories. Additionally to the online store, the company also has stores in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, and in Nunberg, Germany.
