Romanian Weather Administration issues Code Orange for extreme cold weather in Bucharest

Romania’s National Weather Administration (ANM) has issued a Code Orange warning for extreme cold weather in Bucharest and the country. The ANM forecasted a temperature of minus 20 C to minus 18 C for Monday night, ANM representative Gabriela Bancila said.

The ANM issued two extreme weather warnings, valid for Monday and Tuesday, for the entire country. Therefore, Oltenia, Walachia, Dobrogea, Moldavia, Transylvania and Maramures are under Code Orange, with minimums between – 29 C and – 15 C, and Crisana and Banat are under Code Yellow.

According to the ANM, in Bucharest, the temperature on Monday will stand at – 11 C during the day, while during the night they will go down to – 20 to – 18. The Code Orange is expected to remain in force.
