After more than 15 years with an office in Bucharest, where 21 employees work, the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) opens an office in Cluj-Napoca.

”AHK Transylvania Office will provide Transylvanian companies with direct access to our dynamic and innovative community and support regional companies in their activities, ”said Sebastian Metz, general manager and board member.

AHK officials said that they have chosen Cluj-Napoca because it is the best starting point to step up our activities across the region.

”Opening this office will help to improve the understanding of regional issues. We will involve and support our companies both through the working groups established within AHK Romania and through collaboration with other organizations when direct communication with public institutions is needed, ”added Dragos Anastasiu, president of AHK Romania.

According to AHK, in the city are active 435 german companies, 6 percent of 7,500 in the whole country.

One of the central objectives of the AHK office in Cluj-Napoca is to address the important economic aspects of the Transylvania region and to discuss them with the other actors involved in economic life.

The Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 2002, counts over 600 member firms.
