Romania’s inflation rate reached 3.5 percent in September

Romania posted an inflation rate of 3.5 percent in September, according to Eruostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In the previous month, Romania’s annual rate stood at 4.3 percent.

The average inflation rate for EU Member States outside the euro area stood at 3.3 percent. In the same month, Bulgaria reported an inflation rate of 2.9 percent.

In September 2011, the lowest annual rates were observed in Ireland (1.3 percent), Sweden (1.5 percent) and the Czech Republic (2.1 percent), and the highest in Estonia (5.4 percent) and Lithuania (4.7 percent).

The EU annual inflation was 3.3 percent in September, up from 2.9 percent in the previous month. A year earlier, the rate was 2.3 percent.
