Romania rolls out first management authority for EU funds on 2014-2020 framework

The European Funds Ministry (EFM) appoints the first management authority that manages financial interventions from the European aid fund for the most disadvantaged persons (FEAD), the management authority for the Operational Program for Disadvantaged People Aid.

“I’m glad to announce that I signed today the ordinance of appointment of the management authority POAD, the first management authority within the EFM, allowing us the back payment to the European Commission of the expenses and supported by the state budget on this program. I thank my colleagues from the Funds Ministry, the representatives of Audit Authority and the Certification Authority within the Finance Ministry for the reliability and the efforts intensity from the last months. It was a complex process, that we have just finished now,” said Dragos Dinu, the minister of EU funds.

The appointment takes place as a result of the favorable audit report of the Audit Authority within the Romanian Accounts Court through which the system within 2014-2020 for POAD and is conformity with the appointment criteria.

The management authority for the Operational Program for Disadvantaged People Aid is the first one appointed on the management authority list made by EFM.

POAD has EUR 518.8 million allocated during 2014-2020. The contribution of EU budget is 85 percent and the co-financing from the national budget is 15 percent. POAD is a continuation of the European Program for Disadvantage People Aid during 2007-2013.
