Romania ranks the 5th in the Net Index top of countries with fastest internet speeds

Romania ranked on the fifth place in the global Net Index top of the countries with the best internet connection, with an average speed of up to 25.83 Mbps.

Romania is topped only by Lithuania (31.62 Mbps), South Korea (29.82 Mbps), Latvia (26.66 Mbps) and Sweden (25.96 Mbps).

The average download speed in the European Union is 12.99 Mbps while in the USA is is 12.12 Mbps.

Moreover, there are four Romanian cities that made it into the ranking of the 15 cities with the fastest internet connection in the world.

These are Iasi (download speed of 29.28 Mbps), Constanta (download speeds of 28.74 Mbps), Bucharest (download speeds of 28.61 Mbps), Timisoara (download speed of 25,.12 Mbps) and Cluj-Napoca (download speed of 23.06 Mbps).
