Romania exported iron and steel of EUR 1.42 bln in the first 10 months of 2016

Romania exported EUR 1.42 billion worth of iron and steel in the first 10 months of 2016,  13.3 percent lower than in 2015 according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The imports of were lower by 8.9 than those from January-October 2015, registering a deficit by EUR 630 million on this segment.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the total value of the Romanian international trade in the first 10 months of 2016 was over EUR 103.43 billion, a growth by 5.3 percent compared with the first ten months of 2015, while the exports registered a growth of EUR 47.76 billion (+4.1 percent) and the imports registered a growth of EUR 55.67 billion (+6.4 percent). In these conditions, the Romanian trade balance deficit went up by 23.2 percent from EUR 6.4 billion (at October 31 2015) from EUR 7.9 billion (at October 31 2016).
