Mihnea Vasiliu, 44, was appointed GM of Ringier Romania. In this position he will be responsible for the strategic and operative leadership as well as the development of all business activities of Ringier in Romania, reads the company’s press release. Vasiliu is taking over from Marius Hagger who decided to leave the Ringier AG.
Mihnea Vasiliu will assume his new position in mid-November and he will report directly to Florian Fels, CEO Ringier Central Europe. Vasiliu has extensive knowledge of the Romanian media market. Currently he is executive director of Realitatea Media Group in Bucharest and he previously served as CEO of the Romanian Media Pro Group.
Vasiliu holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest and an Executive MBA from London Business School. He is the successor to Marius Hagger.
“As already communicated in July, Hagger accepted a new professional challenge at the NZZ Group in Switzerland and is therefore leaving Ringier AG at his own request”, reads the press realease.
“I am confident that Mihnea Vasiliu, with his proven expertise in the Romanian media market and thanks to his strategic qualities, will advance our business activities in Romania decisively”, said Florian Fels, CEO Ringier Central Europe.
Ringier Romania has approximately 400 employees and publishes amongst others the tabloid newspaper Libertatea, teen and women’s magazines like Bravo, Unica or Bolero, in addition to running Internet portals and a printing plant.
