Between January 1 and September 30, 2018, 33,015 building permits for residential buildings were issued, up 4.4 percent over the same period last year, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
According to the institution, increases were registered in the following development regions: South-Muntenia (+432 permits), South-West Oltenia (+376), West (+347), South-East (+221), Center (+125) Northwest (+122) and declines were recorded in the North-East development regions (-226 permits) and Bucharest-Ilfov (-17).
In September 2018, 4,006 building permits were issued, of which 63 percent for the rural area. Regional distribution shows there were 53 fewer building permits issued for residential buildings compared to the previous month.
The decline is reflected in the following development regions: West (-150 permits), North-East (-59) and South-West Oltenia (-40). Increases were registered in the following development regions: Bucharest-Ilfov (+121 permits), Center (+37), South-Muntenia (+28), South-East (+8) and North-West (+2).
In September 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year, there was a decrease in the number of building permits issued for residential buildings (-24 permits), a decrease reflected in the following development regions: North-East (-91 permits), North -Vest (-57), West (-47), and South West-Oltenia (-21). Increases were in the following development regions: South East (+96 permits), Bucharest-Ilfov (+55), South-Muntenia (+30) and Center (+11).
