Resident clients’ deposits gain 0.5 pct in September, says BNR

The non-governmental resident clients in Romania increased their bank deposits by 0.5 percent reaching RON 286.385 billion in September 2017.

According to the National Romanian Bank (BNR), the amount of household deposits grew by 10.8 percent in September to RON 107.528 billion compared to September 2017. The RON deposits of companies increased up to RON 86.524 billion and by 12 percent year-on-year.

Compared to the same period of the previous year the residential currency RON deposits increased by 9.6 percent and household ones by 11.3 percent. The RON-based deposits of companies also increased by 6.3 percent.

The total volume of the household and firms currency deposits reached RON 92.332 billion (EUR 20.076 billion) which means a total growth of 1.3 percent at the end of September.
