Renault Romania has signed three partnerships to kick start a joint team working on developing infrastructure for electric cars. The first three agreements for electric mobility were signed between Renault and Siemens, between Renault and Schneider Electric and between Renault and Electrica. The first stage in these agreements looks at establishing a team working on coming up with a complete and viable plan to implement and maintain the electric car powering infrastructure. Other partnerships of this type are expected to follow in the upcoming period.
Together with Nissan, Renault is planning to sell a complete range of electric cars at an accessible price. This year the company is launching three electric models: Fluence Z.E., Kangoo Z.E. and Twizy, followed by Zoe in 2012. At a worldwide level the Renault Nissan alliance has closed more than 90 partnerships with cities, organizations and key partners to prepare markets and necessary infrastructure for the successful adoption of electric cars. The company plans to sell 1.5 million electric cars worldwide by 2016. Starting 2015 Renault Nissan will manufacture around 500,000 units per year.
