Airbites had several tens of thousands of television and internet subscribers in Romania. The value of the deal, which was announced by Airbites on its official site, has not been made public.

In 2008, Airbites launched IP television in Bucharest and Iasi, which it intended to expand to four other cities where it had developed its network: Roman, Bacau, Onesti and Barlad. However, the company has been looking for a buyer since 2008 when it posted a turnover of EUR 2.9 million and a net loss of EUR 8.5 million. RCS & RDS has over one million unique internet users. The operator ended 2008 with a turnover of EUR 387 million. It has an aggressive takeover and pricing policy and is currently expanding its mobile internet network, which should be functional all over the country in December. The RCS & RDS shareholders are Cable Communications Systems from the Netherlands with 88.9 percent of shares, RCS & RDS with 5.04 percent, businessman Zoltan Teszari who holds 2.03 percent and Csaba Ianos Ludescher, with 1.1 percent, as well as other individuals with participations of less than 1 percent.
