Raiffeisen Banca pentru Locuinte (RBL) posted RON 1 million profit last year, according to IFRS standards, its first year of profit. The lender managed 128,000 customer accounts, which contained a total of RON 2.26 billion at the end of last year, an increase of 21 percent on 2008. Moreover, RBL’s customers saved RON 250 million in the same period.
“Last year was a year of many important events both for us and for the local economy. We merged with another bank and it was the first year when we made profit. This profit was the result of the increase in quality of the new savings contracts and measures to cut administrative costs. Almost 70 percent of the customers that signed saving/borrowing contracts last year are able to save money regularly,” said Andrei Stamatian, president of RBL.
The lender also signed a collaboration protocol with Cluj-Napoca city hall in the middle of April, to support the residential heating improvement program.
