Rate of NPLs in Romania falls to 8.24 percent in July

The rate of non-performing loans in Romania by 0.08 percentage points in July versus June to 8.24 percent, according to the most recent data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

Compared to July 2016, the NPLs rate fell by 2.78 percentage points.

The number of individuals that had debts of more than 30 days to banks and non-banking financial institutions fell by 2.7 percent in July, compared to the previous month, to 668,279, according to central bank data.

The debts of individuals amounted to RON 7.28 billion, while the total loan amounts in RON gained 1.3 percent to RON 140.3 billion, out of which RON 60.2 million were loans to firms and RON 76.3 million were loans to the population.

Loans in foreign exchange totaled 91.9 billion, equivalent in RON.
