PSD head Liviu Dragnea meets US representative Ed Royce, Trump advisor Michael Flynn

Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and Social Democratic Party (PSD) head Liviu Dragnea met with US representative Ed Royce, Chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs during his visit to the United States. According to Dragnea, he assured the US politician that Romania will continue to be a pillar of trust of transatlantic relations.

Yesterday I had the chance to meet a good friend of Romania from the United States: Chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ed Royce. It was a pleasant talk about Romanian-American. Mr. Royce stressed Romania’s reliability, confirmed throughout in several difficult moments. I sent Romania’s attachment to the strategic partnership towards the Strategic partnership, as well as the commitment of the Bucharest Government to develop political and economic relationships between the two countries. Moreover, I assured Mr. Royce that Romania will continue to be a pillar of trust of transatlantic relations,” Dragnea wrote in a Facebook posting.

Also on Wednesday, Liviu Dragnea met Michael Flynn, the future national-security adviser of President Donald Trump. According to Dragnea, he had “a very good informal talk” with Flynn. Dragnea took the opportunity to assure the US official that the Romanian Government will fulfill Romania’s commitment to allocate 2 percent of the GDP for defines.
