President Iohannis approves 15 pct wage hike for public sector doctors and teachers | The cancellation of 102 taxes, returned to Parliament

President Klaus Iohannis signed into law on Friday the draft bill that includes the 15 percent increase of wages in the Education and Healthcare sectors, days after the Constitutional Court (CCR) ruled out that this law does not breach the fundamental law of Romania.

Also, the president decided to send back to Parliament the draft bill for the elimination of 102 taxes. The CCR had also ruled out that this bill is constitutional. Among the taxes that would have been axed there was the one for the public TV-radio stations.

The bill that eliminates these taxes was initiated by the head of the social democrat party PSD, Liviu Dragnea.
