Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, Labour Minister Dragos Pislaru, Justice Minister Raluca Pruna and Andrei Plesu have expressed their support for an initiative launched by former State Secretary Valeriu Nicolae to encourage “honest people to enter politics and to do journalism as it should be done.”

“We can support honest people to do politics and journalism as it should be done. If we gather enough mini-moguls to create a fund we, those who can and who want this country to be better could test a funding that can work as a counterweight,” the former Stat Secretary said in a Facebook post.

“Dacian, Mr. Plesu, Raluca Pruna are three with whom I discussed and who would be willing to enter a board of such a fund. There are already around 40 of us who are willing to put together a part of our salaries to fund ideas that are smarter than ours. If we manage to be a couple of hundreds or thousands we can change the dependence between politicians and journalists with catastrophic effects that a lot of us are complaining about. I said it is worth trying. There should be at least 200 of us to make this work. Is anybody else up for it?”, Valeriu Nicolae wrote.
