Foreign direct investment in Romania went up two times in the first two months of this year to EUR 294 million, compared to EUR 140 million in the similar period of 2010, the Central Bank reports.
Out of this total, EUR 267 million were loans from mother companies, and EUR 27 million were consolidated capital participations.
Last year, foreign direct investment totaled EUR 2.5 bullion, down 25.5 percent compared to 2009, when they stood at EUR 3.4 billion. Foreign direct investment were made up to the largest extent from capital participation totaling EUR 2.04 billion and loans from mother companies amounting to EUR 556 million.
