People whose assets are seized will not be evacuated from their homes during the period December 1- March 1, except if the person who asks for the evacuation of the dwelling does not have a home, according to the law draft which is meant to implement a “small reform” in the justice system.

“This interdiction means that we will not make people leave their homes in the middle of winter,” said Prime Minister Emil Boc.

President Traian Basescu announced that he will summon the parliament in extraordinary session at the beginning of August, especially for the law concerning the National Agency of Integrity. The law sparked controversy and the discontent of the European Commission which considers that the law “severely undermines the efficacy of the verification process, the sanctioning and confiscation of the unjustified goods.’ The president said this phrasing of the European Commission “seems extremely tough, and for good reason.”
