In 2011, specialists will continue to be on the companiesaa‚¬a„¢ most wanted list, HR study shows

Due to the financial crisis, companies in Romania have suffered structural changes in 2009, a study developed by HR company Innerlook shows. If in 2009, HR departments were faced with major budget cuts, 2010 is the year in which measures where taken in order to make the company’s activity more efficient, continues the study.

Organizational culture has become this year’s keyword, since companies have realized that cutting costs was only a temporary measure and alternative means for increasing employees’ productivity were regarded as more important. Organizational development is based on evaluating the current situation, on identifying needs and on developing proper solution, states the report. Organizational transformation seems to be 2010’s solution to crisis adaptation, as employees are motivated to go to work if they can identify with the company’s values, continues the Innerlook report.

Many of the M&As taking place this year seem to have omitted the importance of organizational culture – those who have realized that adapting to a set of pre-established values might take time have had a 45 percent increase in efficiency, continues the report, shows the study. Organizational transformation may even bring a 25 percent cut in costs, with more focus being put on making employees loyal, rather than investing in recruitment. Such a program may even bring a ROI of a minimum 50 percent due to the long-term benefits that it may bring for the company.

“We estimate that 2011 will not be very different from the current year, as the market will continue to experiment alternative solutions of development. After 1.5 years from the market’s unbalancing, the companies that have invested in their own team have registered an increase compared to the companies that have preferred to enter a “state of preservation” by budget freeze”, stated Georgiana Dragomir, managing partner Innerlook.

Thus, as the study continues, the companies will continue to invest in 2011 in attracting specialists who adapt easily to the changing economic context, as many companies will remodel their management teams in their efforts to implement a new business vision and strategy.
