Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced during the six-month government review conference on Monday that all payments related to the Unified Tax Statement would be made online starting in 2019.
“Cutting red tape is extremely important for millions of Romanians. For people who gain income from independent activities we have two major measures that will help them save dozens of hours they used to spend on paying taxes. Firstly, we have included seven fiscal statements into one and thus also reduced the number of deadlines to one – March 15. Starting in 2019, all payments will be made online,” the PM said.
According to the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), around 210,000 individual taxpayers must submit this fiscal statement.
Individuals who gain income from economic activities or other income categories can declare it online by filling out a form in the Private Virtual Space on the ANAF website. The form automatically calculates the amount of tax and contributions owed by individuals to the state budget.
A 5 percent discount of the income tax for 2018 is offered for individuals who submit the form by July 30 and pay the tax fully by March 15, 2019. The discount will also be awarded for social contributions owed according to the law.
