Equatorial, on of the main training companies from Romania, registered a turnover of over EUR 1 million in 2016, a growth by 37 percent compared with 2015. The highest share of the turnover, 65 percent of the activities that generated this result was due to game-based learning projects, a gamification approach that Equatorial adopted in 2014.

The project where the new vision direction was implemented is Equatorial Marathon, the first platform of learning through game addressed to multinational companies that innovate the learning process and employees’ development. The game has as metaphor a marathon around Equator, where the participants have to fulfill some „running challenges” to advance in the race, challenges that are in fact task and activities from the daily job of employees.

„For 2017, we aim to consolidate the two strategic directions that led to the results from 2016 and even to increase the revenues generated by Equatorial Marathon by 20 percent through the game export on the markets from Spain, Germany, UK and USA. This innovative acquisition experience or skills  fixing  generated a behaviour change in the project management of the talents and the teams collaboration, the sales performance increase or the development of leadership skills,” said Dan Berteanu, managing partner Equatorial.

In approximately one year and half of activity, in Equatorial Marathon there were 21 projects implemented in Romania and two in Poland, and the platform is also marketed on the Italian and French markets.
