Orange Foundation Romania grants EUR 220,000 to six NGOs

Orange Foundation announces six NGOs financed with EUR 220,000 within the contest “World through color and sound”, for projects of education, healthcare, culture and social integration of persons with deficit of eyesight and/or hearing.

The six winners of the contest were The National Association of Deaf people from Romania Bucharest Subsidiary, The Tandem Association, The Association of Persons with Hearing Deficiency, National Association of Deaf People from Romania Buzau Subsidiary, the Association of Alternative Methods of Social Integration and the Training Association.

The overall value of the projects stands at over EUR 240,000.

The projects will offer solution to the eyesight and hearing problems from Romania: the creation of a system of video interpretation of facial expressions and gestures from a distance, the development of a digital platform with learning materials about the Romanians’ history for the students with eyesight deficiency, improving the rehabilitation process for hipo- acoustic children by creating two new centers for prior intervention, as well as development of workshops for blind people with themes related to the spacial awareness.

„The total financing through this fund reaches almost EUR 2 million,” said Dana Deac, president of the Directorate Council of Orange Foundation.
