Orange extends Romanian mobile internet service to highways and national roads

Mobile company Orange will extend their 4G service range on Romanian roads to the seaside and mountainside this summer.

The internet service will cover the A1 (Bucharest – Pitesti), A2 (Bucharest – Constanta) and A3 (Bucharest – Ploiesti) highways, as well as DN1 (Bucharest – Brasov) and DN39 (Constanta – Vama Veche) national roads and all routes that connect Bucharest to Constanta and Brasov.

The mobile company claims the development of the network are a result of the significant increase in mobile internet consumption. Among the most popular reasons for people to use mobile internet on their phones are the use of e-mail apps, as well as social media apps (such as Facebook or Snapchat), which are used to upload photographs or videos and check the latest news.

At the moment, the Orange network is available to 72 percent of the total population of Romania and 96 percent of the urban population in more than 4800 towns.
