Orange clients can pay for subway rides via SMS

Customers of Orange Romania can pay for their subway rides by calling or sending an SMS to the number 1700, announced the mobile telephony operator. The cost of a ride is EUR 0.5, while one round trip is EUR 0.9 while the price of 10 rides is EUR 2.2.

 “Access into the station is made by calling free of charge the number 1700 and placing the phone close to the terminals especially placed for this. The phone will issue a beep and the machine will indicate if there are valid rides and allow acces.

 Any client who wishes to find information regarding how many rides are still available or when the term expires can do so by sending an SMS with the text INFO at the number 1700 free of charge.

 In the first stage, the service is available in the stations Gara de Nord, Victoriei, Universitate, Petrache Poenaru, Timpuri Noi, Grozave
