Only one Romanian bank ranked among top 500 most valuable banking brands in the world

Banca Transilvania is the sole Romanian bank ranked among the top 500 most valuable banking brands in the world, according to the annual report on the most valuable and strongest financial institutions.

Banca Transilvania ranks 438^th in top 500 most valuable banking brands this year, up 48 places compared with 2018, the report indicates.

The Romanian bank is considered among the banks in the world that registered some of the best strength changes during the last year.

From this perspective, Banca Transilvania registered the 5^th biggest strength change in the world, of 20 percent, after Caixa, BTPN, BIDV, Bank of Suzhou and Bank BTN.

Banca Transilvania last year became the biggest bank in Romania in terms of assets, overtaking BCR. The bank has been severely hit since the end of last year by the new tax on assets imposed by the government and lost more than a quarter of its market value on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since December 19, 2018.
