Online booking agency Vola.ro ended 2011 with a turnover which the company calls “a record in its history,” in value of approximately EUR 15.5 million. This marks 189 percent growth year-on-year, the turnover posted by the company at the end of 2010 being EUR 5.38 million.
The company’s organic growth was sustained also by a bigger team, the number of employees growing from 17 at the end of 2010 to 50 people at the moment. This also urged the company to move to new headquarters
The company’s presence in the social media also greatly improved, going from 8,000 fans on facebook up to 50,000 during 2011, following promotion campaigns.
Vola.ro was placed on the 1st place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central and Eastern Europe ranking, due to the growth in the turnover posted over the past 5 years.
“We have 2 main targets for the next 3 years: to become leaders of the tourism industry in Romania and together with subsidiaries opened in Poland and Ukraine (the market where we will launch operations this year) we will become an important player in Central and Eastern Europe,” says Daniel Truica, managing partner of Vola.ro
