“Just like in the past years, the biggest share in the investment program comes from long-term investments (ongoing). This is due to the need for modernize/replace several systems, out of economic reasons : to reduce specific consumption, improve parameters characteristics to the processes with a positive impact on the efficiency, or due to legal reasons – the need to implement improvements associated with nuclear security, environmental protection and labour security representing stringent requests from the regulating authorities,” the company said in its report.

The two Cernavoda units provide around 20 percent of the total output of electricity of the country. The main shareholder of the company is the Ministry of Energy, which has a share of 82.49 percent.
