NN Group appoints Marius Popescu CEO of NN Turkey

NN Romania CEO will be appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NN Group’s Turkish operations, effective 1 April, the Group announced today.

Marius Popescu joins NN Hayat ve Emeklilik Turkey after spending 12 years with NN Romania. Here he held numerous senior roles, including CEO of NN Investment Partners and CEO of NN Pensions. He was appointed CEO of NN Romania in 2013 and since then steered the company in consolidating its leading positions in all three business lines: life insurance, voluntary pension and mandatory pensions.

“As CEO of NN Romania, Marius has done a wonderful job, consolidating NN’s leadership position in the market. He has successfully built the leading tied agent network and deepened relationships with ING Bank. Presently NN Romania is the leader of the industry, providing financial solutions, life and pensions to more than two million customers. Starting in April, Marius Popescu will be responsible for NN Hayat ve Emeklilik Turkey and his mandate will be to bring his acquired experience in growing both our life insurance and voluntary pensions businesses to Turkey, and to further improve the customer experience aligned with our global strategy. His deep knowledge of insurance, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to deliver make him the perfect choice for our emerging Turkish business,” Robin Spencer, CEO International Insurance and Member of the Management Board NN Group said.

Marius’ successor in Romania will be announced in due course. On an interim basis, Mihai Muntean, Chief Sales Officer, will assume responsibility as CEO NN Life Insurance Romania.
