New registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport decreased by 0.7 pct in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter of 2017. Over the period surveyed, the new registrations of vehicles for goods transport increased by 7.6 percent compared to the first quarter of the previous year, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said.
In the first quarter of 2018, compared to the same quarter of 2017, the new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport increased for mopeds and motorcycles by 16.4 percent and decreased for buses and minibuses and for passenger cars by 11.0 percent and by 0.7 percent, respectively.
The new registrations of road vehicles for goods transport increased for trailers and semitrailers and for road tractors by 32.8 percent and by 0.7 percent, respectively and decreased by 1.0 percent for road tractors.
In the first quarter of 2018, compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, the new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport decreased by 12.4 percent, while the new registrations of road vehicles for goods transport increased by 3.0 percent.
