New line of business for Avenir Telecom: kiosk type Energizer stores in commercial galleries

Avenir Telecom launches a new line of business opening kiosk type Energizer stores in commercial galleries of the big shopping centres in the country and the first one was opened in Baneasa Mall. Also, Avenir Telecom becomes a regional distributor for Energizer products managing sales from Romania for four countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Republic of Moldova.

The new concept for retail is meant to support the image of Energizer as well as selling the branded product. “The decision came as a result of increased sales of mobile phones and accessories in the entire market, supported by the consumption behaviour of the Romanian buyers, who want high quality, certified products and with extended guarantee at affordable prices. In this context, we consider an opportunity to open our own kiosk-type shops, where we will sell only Energizer products”, says Costin Soare, General Manager of Avenir Telecom.

The whole electro-IT market is characterised by sales of products with better quality and higher prices. All the retailers reported more sales for good quality devices, ranging from smartphones to refrigerators, even if the price is higher. ”When changing a feature phone with a smartphone customers bought cheaper devices and after one or two years of seeing what you can do with a smartphone they decided to buy the next level in quality and performance”, says Costin Soare. The medium price for a smartphone was at RON 850 in 2017, up from RON 630 in 2016.

The Romanian market is the first for the new business line, being a local initiative. Romania was also the first country where the company launched the new range of Energizer phones even before being presented at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The first Energizer store was opened in Baneasa Shopping City, the Feeria wing, and sells over 100 unique products.

• Energizer Power Max – High-end smartphones with a long lasting battery life, of up to 5,000 mAh (running up to 24 days in standby). The range includes two models: Power Max P600S (available in two versions: 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space) and the Power Max P550S, a smartphone with a 5,000 mAh battery;

• Energizer Energy, including the slim Energy S500 and Energy S500E smartphones (supplied with protection accessories such as glass foil and anti-shock cover), and two energy efficient and lasting feature phone models, Energy E10 and Energy E20.
