The net average wage at national level went up by RON 17 up to new record level of RON 2,380 in June and the annual growth trend held steady to 14.5 percent, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The annual growth trend from May and June is far from the one from January, of 18.4 percent, the highest one registered after November 2008.
The net salary wage from June exceeded the previous record registered in April, of RON 2,366.
The gross average wage reached a record level in June, of RON 3,313, a growth by 0.8 percent compared with May.
Romania has hiked the minimum gross salary wage by 16 percent to RON 1,450 starting February.
The official statistics shows that in real terms, the net wages were higher in June, by 13.5 percent compared with June 2016, considering the inflation of 0.85 percent in June 2017.
“The highest values of the minimum wage in nominal value were registered in IT (RON 5,853) and the lowest values were registered in hotels and restaurants (RON 1,400),” says the INS release.
