One of the most dynamic real estate investors in Central and Eastern Europe, NEPI prepares to start building Shopping City Satu Mare, expected to be inaugurated at the end of 2018. NEPI invested EUR 40 million in the shopping mall, which will have a total gross leasable area of 28,000 square meters.

The mall is expected to offer a mix of shopping and entertainment areas, including a cinema, as well as a food court.

NEPI’s investment in Satu Mare represents more than the opening of a regional shopping center, although many of the city inhabitants felt the lack of a mall, the wait is over, we say, because the center will be built according to the latest standards, and, by definition, will be a location focused very much on the needs of the community and on offering the best options to spend its free time. The main purpose is to bring to Satu Mare all services and products necessary to city inhabitants, so that their money and time can be invested locally, and not in other counties,” Sebastian Mahu, NEPI Asset Manager said.

In addition to building the shopping center, NEPI aims to improve the surrounding infrastructure by doing work on two streets adjacent to the mall, namely Digului and Dunarii street, as well as by contributing to the building of a pedestrian passage over the River Somes, which will facilitate transition between the two parts of the city.

Shopping City Satu Mare will spread over approximately 6 hectares, and will feature a parking lot with a capacity of 1,000 places, on two levels.
