The National House of Public Pensions has started this week the implementation of an informatization project using European financing.

The project is called Online Public Services for Citizens, Tax-Payers and Beneficiaries of the System of Public Pensions and the System of Labor Accidents and Professional Illnesses.

It is co-financed via the European Regional Development Fund, based on a financing contract signed with the Ministry of Communications. The total value of the project that must be implemented is nearly EUR 5 million (RON 21.5 million), of which more than EUR 4 million (RON 17.5 million) represents non-reimbursable funds. The project must be implemented over a period of 24 months.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are tax-payers and beneficiaries of the system of public pensions and labor accidents- approximately 5.6 million insured people, 450,000 employers and 5.4 million retired people.

When completed, the project will see that 15 electronic services are in place. In order to use the IT application, 2,125 people will be trained. Upon completion, the IT system will be used by 400,000 beneficiaries, either individual or institutions. Five years after completion, 700,000 beneficiaries are expected to use the system.
