Musat & Asociatii appointed legal consultant for OPSPI in Oltchim privatization process

Musat& Asociatii was selected by the Economy and Commerce ministry to provide legal consultancy to the Office of State Participations in Privatizations and Industry OPSPI in the privatization of Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea. Musat & Asociatii is representing the Romanian state in two other public offerings on the Bucharest Stock Exchange BSE: the sale of the state stakes in Transgaz and Transelectrica.

The firm will provide legal assistance to OPSPI on all aspects related to privatization, including preparing the task book and launching the bid, selecting the consultant, analyzing the regulatory aspects, structuring the transaction and providing legal assistance throughout the entire privatization process.

 Since its establishment, Musat & Asociatii has been involved in several large privatizations on the local market such as assisting Enel in the privatization of Electrica Muntenia Sud, Electrica  Banat and Electrica Dobrogea; assisting GE Capital on the acquisition of Banc Post; the acquisition of Banca Agricola by Raiffeisen Bank; the acquisition of Sidex Galati by Arcelor Mittal. The firm was involved in several M&A deals such as: assisting the Rompetrol Group in the public offering for taking over Rompetrol Rafinare and Rompetrol Well Services, assisting Mediterranean Car Company in acquiring Autoitalia; assisting Platinum Equitiy investment fund in selling the three Alco plants in Romania to Leoni, Kromberg & Schubert and Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems; assisting AlKa Pro in selling its dry fruits and seeds division to Intersnak; or assisting RePower in acquiring  80 percent of Elcomex.
