MSD appoints Agata Jakoncic regional director for Balkan region

Pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp&Dohme MSD has appointed Agata Jakoncic, the former country manager of MSD Romania, as regional director for the Balkan region. In her new position, she will coordinate Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia Hertegovina, Slovenia, Croatia and Albania.

She took over the local management of MSD in 2007, and she was in charge with integrating the MSD and Schering- Plough operations after the later was taken over by Merck & Co. Her successor at the helm of the Romanian operations is expected to be announced in May.
