The most popular fruits among Romanians are apples (79 percent of the respondents), followed by oranges and bananas (59 percent) and kiwi (16 percent), according to a study conducted by Granini soft beverage manufacturer. What’s more, around 55 percent of the respondents eat fruits between meals, while 35 percent prefer to consume them in the evening and 23 percent prefer to associate them with lunch.
The study was conducted on a sample of 1053 people from urban areas across Romania. It also reveals that pears, grapes, grapefruits, tangerines and strawberries represent a mere 10 percent of the respondents’ fruit preferences. Regarding the frequency of fruit consumption, a quarter of the inquired consume fruit a few times per day, while 27 percent opt for fruit only once a day.
Juice consumption is dominated by approximately identical preferences, with orange, fruit mix, peach and grapefruit as the Romanians’ main choices, according to the study.
