Mobile and internet users no longer to be locked into contracts

Internet and telephone users will no longer be forced to keep telephone or internet subscriptions that they are not happy with for years, only because they signed a contract. Deputies voted last Wednesday a law regarding clauses imposed by providers on consumers.

“The Association of Mobile Operators in Romania believes that one of the possible and logical negative effects of this decision could be the dramatic reduction or even the disappearance from the market of subscription offers accompanied by subsidized handsets. Although in appearance the project is presented to offer consumers some advantages, in reality it is possible that this measure will negatively affect the interests of the final users,” said association officials.
