Ministry of Finance: Funds from last year still available for Prima casa program

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) announced on Monday that there are still around RON 175.5 million available as guarantees for Prima Casa, although on January 27 the ceiling was exceeded, according to a release of the institution.

„Out of the ceiling of RON 2.94 billion allocated for Prima Casa in 2016 there are still RON 175.5 million available for issuing guarantees in 2017. This new ceiling allows the banks to give loans of RON 351.01 million. For the guarantees from the first quarter of 2017, the interest level is o.45 percent per year, a drop by 0.49 percent compared to 2015,” says the release.

According to it, the Finance Ministry elaborated the Government decision through which it proposes a ceiling in value of RON 2.5 billion for 2017. The project is in public consultancy and will be approved by the Government.

„The total guarantee ceiling for 2016 was RON 2.940 billion. Since the launch of the program in 2009 until November 2016, 203,783 guarantees were granted in value of RON 17.5 billion,” according to the MFP.
