Minister of Agriculture, Kuweiti counterpart involved in traffic collision near Slobozia

The Romanian Minister of Agriculture Achim Irimescu and his Kuweiti counterpart Ali Saleh Al Omair, currently on an official visit to Romania, were involved in a traffic collision near Slobozia, Agerpres informs. According to the Health ministry, the two officials reported minor injuries and are out of danger.

Minister of Agriculture Achim Irimescu, was traveling on an official visit together with his Kuweiti counterpart, Ali Saleh Al Omair, in Ialomita county, when their car was involved in a traffic collision.

The condition of the two officials is stable, they are both conscious. The ministers suffered minor head trauma, their lives are not in danger. The tranalsator of the delegation suffered a minor sternum injury, and is also out of danger.

Currently, the three people are under assessment at the Emergency Unit of the Slobozia Emergency Hospital. CT scanner analysis will follow. After the results, the doctors will decide on the further course of treatment,” a statement by the Ministry of Health reads.

We are not severely injured. We were on the highway, we were going towards Braila and it happened after Slobozia. The SMURD unit came and took us from the site of the accident and now we are at the Slobozia hospital. They must check us because this is the procedures. We have injured our noses, me and the Kuweiti minister, but we are alright,” Achim Irimescu told Agerpres.

The two officials were traveling together with a translator and the driver.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, which occurred on DN21.
