WTA No 37, Romanian tennis player Mihaela Buzarnescu has qualified for the final of the WTA Prague Open by defeating in three sets Italy’s Camilla Giorgi, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. The victory is made even sewer for the Romanian, as it comes on her birthday.
Buzarnescu, the tournament’s seventh seed, who turns 30 on Friday, won the match in 2 hours and 24 minutes. The Prague final is the second in her career. She played her first final in Hobart earlier this year.
In the final, Buzarnescu will face local favourite and multiple Grand Slam winner Petra Kvitova.
